December 3, 2009
While we’re stocking our store with a ton of great items for the holiday season, we’ve also organized a bunch of events in December where you can meet the creators of some really awesome products right here at Gamescape. All through the month, we’ll be getting visits from a number of local game designers who will set up tables in the store and show you what they’re best at. You can give something new a try, learn a bit about the design process, or even get a game signed. Check out our featured designer visits below and synch up your shopping days with our December Designer Days!
Do Tell Designer Demo with Kathy Jacobson
Saturday, December 12th 1-3pm
Kathy will be showing off her brand new Family Edition of Do Tell, a great game of personal interaction and disclosure. Her company’s mission: to create products that use fun, humor and interaction to help people connect – to see and share in new ways, express themselves more easily and creatively, to bring greater depth to their knowledge of one another – and ultimately to feel more joy. We’ve been watching Do Tell evolve for the past year, and we think this is the best version yet.
Blue Orange Designer Demo with the Blue Orange Staff
Saturday, December 19th 1-4pm
The fine folks over at Blue Orange have consistently been creating wonderful, super-fun games for kids and adults, and this year has seen some of their best. In addition to the wildly-popular Yamslam and Pengoloo games, they’ll be bringing playable copies of their entire line, including Gobblet, Ringgz, Froggie Boogie, Quack Quack, Double Shutter, and Fundomino – and maybe even some giant-sized versions, as well! Blue Orange has been one of our favorite companies for years, and we always enjoy spending time with them, whether it’s playing games or playtesting them.
Qwirkle Designer Demo with Susan McKinley-Ross
Sunday, December 20th 1-4pm
We’re very proud to get a visit from Susan during her very busy schedule, and we’re looking forward to making some time to have her whip us at her own smash hit abstract strategy games, Qwirkle and the new Qwirkle Cubes. Susan and her husband Chris will be around on the Sunday before Christmas to demo and sign games for her fans and customers. Since Qwirkle has been one of the best selling games in the store for two years straight, this is a great opportunity to see what all the buzz is about from the best source available!
