GRPA – Monday, May 24th 6-11pm
Game #1 – The Crucible of Freya
GM – Andre Sisneros
The village of Fairhill has long been a peaceful town, located off the tradeway between two major cities. The Temple of Freya and its devoted priestess, Shandril, is the focal point for the village. Under her guidance the village fields yield great quantities of grain, the cattle produce milk and calves in abundance, and the people of Fairhill live in harmony with numerous children. In recent weeks, though, trouble has come to Fairhill. A small band of marauding orcs began raiding the outskirts of the village at night. You and your band have come to town in the hopes of finding adventure and rewards. Your Aunt and Uncle live in Fairhill and have sent desperate message about the raids. Now that you have arrived, it’s time to get to the bottom these attacks!
Originally an adventure module for White Wolf’s Sword and Sorcery line, this version of The Crucible of Freya has been converted for the wildly-popular Pathfinder Adventure Game.
Game #2 – The Topaz Championship
Legend of the Five Rings 3rd Ed
GM – Walter Wrigglesworth
The Topaz Championship – the most prestigious gempukku ceremony in Rokugan. Champions and aspiring samurai from every clan in the Empire will be there, each one vying for the honors bestowed from winning one of the great tournaments of the land. For some, such as the Crane Clan, the scholar-warriors of the Empire, this championship marks their ascension to adulthood and samurai, a defining point in their lives. For others, such as the Crab, who have grown up fighting the demons and monsters of the Shadowlands, it is merely another stop on an already-impressive road, a chance to gain imperial notice and personal honor, nothing more. For you, a Ronin, clanless and without honor in the eyes of the Empire, this championship means a great deal more. It is a chance to prove your mettle to the clans, prove your worth to your fellow warriors. For you, this championship may be the breaking point between a glorious life as an Imperial Champion, or a meaningless death as an honorless dog. And all is not right at the championship. Whispered words carrying ominous tones speak of plots, of treachery, of assassination, of plans to strike at heart of the Imperial Dynasty, even amidst this most venerated tournament…so what will you choose? Will you sit idly by, content to watch life march past you? Or will you polish your katana, marshal your will, compose your mind, and go forth, to honor, to glory, to death, to whatever your fate may hold?
Legend of the Five Rings (L5R) is a game written by John Wick, creator of 7th Sea, Houses of the Blooded, Shotgun Diaries, and many other games. It is a high-fantasy game set in a stylized realm heavily influenced by Feudal Japanese customs and legends. The system is simple and the world rich, as befitting a game that has existed for many years. This adventure, despite its name, is much more than a tournament, and holds elements of combat, magic, intrigue, possible romance, and a host of other qualities. If you have a love of martial arts, or kung-fu movies, or Japanese legend or culture, or even just a hankering to play a character who can pick up a katana and knows what to do with it, come give the system a try!
Game #3 – Droskar’s Folly Part 2 (Chapter 1, Page 5)
GM – Nick Lundback
Still searching for Dwarven ruins located near Droskar’s Crag, the group of adventurers have struck out into the Northern Forest in the hopes of finding a road to their destination. After having a run-in with a girl-turned-wolf and acquiring a map of the region from the Woodcutters Guild, the party has re-grouped and is now taking on the darkened recesses of the woods…
