    October GRPA

    October 17, 2011

It is fantastic to see how much the Gamescape roleplaying community has developed over these last couple of months. Every Monday now, we consistently have 2-4 groups of roleplayers enjoying their jaunts into imaginary worlds of drama, story, intrigue, and some good ol’ hack-n-slash. With the growth of the Pathfinder Society here at Gamescape, we have added an “overflow” table to our GRPA lineup to accomodate the new arrivals and extra players that are helping to make this roleplaying event so successful. It is our hope to continue developing the roleplaying atmosphere at the store and we eagerly welcome you all to contribute to this great group of gamers.

    October Halloween Party
In addition to the lineup of rpg’s in this frightful month of October, do not forget that Gamescape is hosting a Halloween Party on Monday, October 31st from 6:00 to 11:00 in the evening. Great games and a surplus of sugar will be had and we encourage all of you to join us in costume and disguise to make the night even more eventful. See you then!

Click the link for the official lineup of role-playing games scheduled for it on Monday, October 24th. Have a look below, and if you’d like to join us for any of these sessions, please select a game in which you’d like to participate and either call or write us back with your name and selection. All games are free and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, and you’ll be responded to immediately with your status in the game.

    GRPA – Monday, October 24th 6-11pm

    Game #1 –The Final Reich
    BESM (Big Eyes, Small Mouth)
    4 Players
    GM – Michael O’Brien

In the year 2038, a new organism discovered deep in the Atlantic ocean drastically altered the face of medicine. Within six months, testing to develop a synthetic cell that grew exponentially had begun and later that year the product was approved by the FDA for mass production. This new creation could replace dead cells in the human body and even regrow lost cells, changing and saving the lives of amputees and organ-transplant patients. Over the next two years, the creation, now named NuGro, was altered to repair damaged cells and even attack foreign bodies present in the host. Cancer, AIDS and even genetic defects were a thing of the past, a distant nightmare fading in the light of NuGro. Five years after the initial discovery, NuGro was being used to create food and a refined ethanol, all but ending world hunger and energy shortages. The world rejoiced at this marvel. This product, which was practically free to produce because of its rapid reproduction, had invariably pulled humanity back from the brink of destruction. But there were those who saw NuGro as a potential weapon. Changing it yet again, scientists working for a faceless militant group discovered that NuGro could strengthen already present cells, boosting the patient’s physical and mental capabilities to superhuman levels. It wasn’t long before that organization, named Neue Gott, owned the world…

This story uses the 3rd Ed BESM system. Four players will take the role of ex-Neue Gott super-soldiers who rebel against their creators in an effort to take back the world. This is meant to be a fast-paced, high action, all-out brawl where the odds are four against four thousand. No prior experience is necessary. If you’re interested, then sign up fast!

Game #2 – The Danger League: The Old Gods
A Steam-punk hack of Danger Patrol
    3-5 Players
    GM – Dale Horstman

An opium den where the trail of missing engineers and scholars stops. A mysterious and ancient book found abandoned at the entrance to the Danger League, full of writing and alphabets unknown and indecipherable. A barely audible chanting described by city sewer workers. A damp mildew smell and general unease that hangs about the city at night.

What does it all mean? It will take all the Danger League has to muster to unravel the mystery…

    Game #3 – Sewer Dragons of Absalom (PFS# 3-02)
    Pathfinder Society
    4-6 Players
    GM – Joshua Archer

Absalom is Golarion’s busiest and most populous city, but one of its largest populations goes largely unnoticed. You must venture into the sewers beneath the City at the Center of the World to stop the meddling dragons within from disrupting a vital Pathfinder Society operation.

This product is a Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 3rd to 7th level characters (Tiers: 3–7). Players may build characters according to the Pathfinder Society Play rules. I will have some ready-built characters for those who do not have their own. I will also assist those wishing to create PFS characters via email or on the forum. Find out more about Pathfinder Society here.

Game #4 – PFS Overflow Table with Classic Modules (Seasons 0 and 1)
    Pathfinder Society
    4-6 Players
    GM – TBD

When the primary module on the calendar is a higher tier adventure, and/or if we have enough players to warrant, we will accommodate lower tier play with a ‘Classic’ table. Classic table will be run on a need to basis and will pull from our supply of Season 0 and 1 modules.

October GRPA Event: Monday, October 24th 6-11pm
Please call the store (415.457.8698) or (Email Us) to reserve a spot in any of the above games.
