    GRPA – Monday, March 25th 6-11pm

    FEATURED GAME #1:
    Stories of the Endless City
    Dungeon World

    3-5 Players
    GM – Dale Horstman

The infinite city of Dis stretches farther than the mind can imagine. It touches every plane of the multiverse — even engulfing some and incorporating them into its ever changing landscape. From the beautiful crystal spires of Colonna stretching ever skyward to the broken obsidian canyons of the Desert of Shadows, its stories and struggles are infinite. Come join us in the gallery for the telling of one such tale…

    About Dungeon World RPG:
Combining high-action dungeon crawling with cutting-edge rules, Dungeon World is a role-playing game of fantasy adventure. You and your friends will explore a land of magic and danger in the roles of adventurers searching for fame, gold, and glory. Dungeon World’s rules are easy to learn and always drive the action forward in unexpected ways. A missed roll is never a dead end – failure introduces new complexities and complications. Life as an adventurer is hard and dangerous, but it’s never boring!

    FEATURED GAME #2:
    Trouble in the Pacific
Dread RPG + Call of Cthulhu

    4-5 Players
    GM – Adam Breindel

It’s 1929. You’ve seen and dealt with weird and weirder in a handful of stubborn towns along the Miskatonic River. But having heard no other reports, you hoped there weren’t…problems …like these in other places. You guessed that the U.S. Government didn’t know — or want to believe — any of the strange stories were more than that.

Guess what? You guessed wrong. Four men with stiff uniforms and square jaws have clarified your error by “offering” you a trip to Hawaii to help research and solve an exceptional personnel issue at a U.S. Army installation and two nearby villages. Since the alternative they offered hinted at time in a secret military mental hospital, you’ve already decided to start packing for Hawaii.

    About Dread RPG:
Dread+CoC features a scenario and milieu from classic Call of Cthulhu: investigator characters who wish to unwrap secrets and find clues to Lovecraftian horrors … and not go insane or die while fending off evils as best they can (which is not very often).

However, their character background will be supplemented with a Dread-style questionnaire, to be filled out at the start of the game, which will establish deeper motivations, quirks, and character relationships than typical CoC characters.

Even better, conflict resolution is via Dread’s Jenga tower mechanic. Whether it’s player-vs-player or player-vs world, the harder you’re trying to do something or fight someone, the more pieces you have to pull from the tower. If the tower falls, you are dead or stark raving mad. As long as the tower stays up, you can stay alive and somewhat sane. But what’s the fun in that, right?
