For the third year running, Gamescape will be participating in HeadsUp’s Shop Local for Schools program at the start of the holiday season. The purpose of this event is to lend mutual support to local businesses and San Rafael City Schools, and it’s really easy to be a part of it. All you have to do is shop and dine at your favorite participating merchants and restaurants on December 5th-8th, and a percentage of proceeds from your purchases will go directly to HeadsUp Public Education Foundation. Last year more than 65 shops, restaurants, and other businesses joined in Shop Local for Schools, and Gamescape is very proud to once again be a contributing member.
This year, we’ll be donating 10% of our total sales to the program over those four days.
The only thing we ask in return is that you let us know that you’re aware of the Shop Local for Schools event, just so we can gauge the breadth of knowledge and how it’s growing from year to year.
In addition, we wanted to remind accredited teachers that we offer a 10% discount on all purchases made for schools with the display of a current teacher’s identification. This is a perennial offer, with no expiration. The provision and maintenance of our local schools is incredibly important to us, and we think there’s an inextricable link between education and games, how they both contribute to the way we learn. Just giving a heads-up!

New to this year’s program is the Shop Local Global Challenge, a fun and interactive event for the whole family!
• Pick up a Global Challenge Passport at Gamescape or the Youth In Arts gallery.
• Set off on a downtown adventure: Visit different stores to solve puzzles or take challenges.
• Earn 8 stamps in your passport. Turn in your completed passport at Double Rainbow or Johnny Doughnuts for a free treat and to enter a drawing to win $100 cash, plus other great prizes.
