    LitQuake San Rafael 2016

    October 2, 2016

We’re excited to once again host some fabulous authors at the store in support of this year’s LitQuake program in San Rafael. You might know that LitQuake is a multi-city event which seeks to foster interest in literature for people of all ages. Our little town is going to have a whole bunch of talented and creative writers featured at venues up and down Fourth Street and beyond, and this Saturday, October 8th 3-4:15pm we’ll be hosting the following authors in our store as part of a panel entitled The Final Frontier: New Pioneers in Science Fiction.
Dorothy Gilbert has served on the faculties of the Univ. of CA at Davis, Mills College, Merritt College, and the CSU, East Bay. Her publications include a verse translation of Chrétien de Troyes’ Erec et Enide, the first known Arthurian romance, original poetry in the New Yorker, the Nation, the Iowa Review, & PEN Southern Lights Anthology. She has also published the most amusing, tongue-in-cheek, “faux–researched” Alien saga ever produced, including an intergalactic cookbook!

Hannu Rajaniemi is a Finnish author of science fiction and fantasy who writes in both English and Finnish. He now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. His novels, The Quantum Thief, The Fractal Prince, and The Casual Angel, are eagerly sought worldwide, and have broken new ground in science fiction.

The panel is completely FREE for all to join. We’ll have plenty of seats in the back of the store, and this is a GREAT chance to meet some top-notch authors and hear a few stories, besides. You can find more info here.
