    Warhammer 40K Kill Team Campaign

    October 30, 2016

On every Tuesday in November, we hope you’ll join us at Gamescape North for our weekly Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team Campaign. Kill Team is essentially a small-scale skirmish version of 40K where players bring a compact team of specialists to the table for a quick and explosive battle. It’s a great way to play Warhammer 40K for new players and veterans alike, and a game can be played in an hour or less with a fairly minimal model count.

The cost is $5 per player for the entire month, and all participants will receive an Inquisition Coin turn marker. Players will start the game with a 300-point Kill Team. Each week of the campaign they will play one game: a loss nets 1 VP and a win awards d3+1 VP. When a player collects 10 VP they can attempt to win the campaign. To win the campaign a player with 10 or more VP must win one more game.

Players will also have opportunities to manage injuries, gain experience, and choose how to expand their army at the end of each week of play. Each week, one warrior in a player’s Kill Team will have a chance to improve their stats or gain new skill. Models that are eliminated during a battle may be permanently injured or may be unable to fight in the next game or maybe even removed from a player’s roster completely. Also each week, players will have 25 points to spend on improving their Kill Team. Players may also choose to spend VPs to increase their Kill Team by 25 points for each VP spent. Victories are important!

Restrictions: A Kill Team is composed of no less than four models. Models in a Kill Team may not have a 2+ Save, may not have 3+ Wounds, and may not have a combined Armor Value of more than 33 (to figure out CAV, add the front, side, and rear armor of the vehicle in question). When constructing a Kill Team army, players may choose up to 2 Troops, 1 Elite, and 1 Fast Attack unit. HQs and Heavy Support choices may not be taken. For the purposes of this campaign, Eldar Warp Spiders may not be included in a Kill Team.

No strength in numbers. No margin for error. Pure, fast-paced combat where tactics matter more than brute strength, and every action matters. A single shot can spell the difference between life and death, and a single decision can decide whether a battle ends in glorious victory or dismal defeat: this is Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team.
