Ohtsu (Japanese, b. 1935) follows the sōsaku hanga (creative print) tradition, in which artists handle every step—they paint the original pictures, carve the woodblocks, and print the images. Ohtsu’s unique compositions are poetic contemplations, drawing the viewer into lovely, tranquil scenes of natural beauty and harmony.
